Denise Langston has dedicated a major portion of her life to animals. She owned and
operated Whispering Rivers Kennel in northern California until a short time ago. She works
as a veterinary technician during her day job. The rest of the time she opens her heart
and her home to rescue animals. A few years ago she and her husband took a cross-country
vacation. It was no surprise when they arrived home with a pickup truck (Noah’s Ark
on wheels) full of animals collected from animal shelters across the United States. They
were each just hours if not minutes away from being euthanized. |

Shelters eased their regulations for adoption to allow
these few animals to leave with Denise. She promised that they would all be adopted out
when she returned home. She made good on that promise. This woman with the kind voice and
warm heart can also serve as an advocate of steel for animals who need her. For the past
five years Denise has been rescuing and adopting out animals. She has spent a great deal
of money out of her own pocket to save these animals…to treat them, vaccinate them,
spay or neuter them, and to advertise for homes for them.
Grateful individuals who have adopted her rescued animals make donations to assist her to
save the next one, and the next one, and the next one. There is, unfortunately, always a
"next one." |
